Appeal from the Department of Greek Philology of the Democritus University of Thrace

The Department of Greek Philology at the Democritus University of Thrace has recently received news that the Greek government intends to merge their department with two others. They are opposed to such a merger and are asking for support in their fight against this decision. To do so, you can read and sign their resolution of protest at the following link :

Berlin Graduate School of Ancient Studies – Three scholarships for doctoral studies (March 2024 – February 2027)

The Berlin Graduate School of Ancient Studies (BerGSAS) invites applications for three doctoral scholarships at Freie Universit├Ąt Berlin and Humboldt-Universit├Ąt zu Berlin for the summer semester of 2024, starting 01 March 2024. Applicants (m/f/d) must hold an outstanding university degree (M.A., M.St., M.Sc., Dipl.) in an Ancient Studies discipline or in a related discipline. The dissertation projects should include a significant digital research component. Each scholarship is endowed with € 1,468 per month and is initially granted for two years, with an option to extend for a third year after positive evaluation. Applications must be submitted electronically via the BerGSAS portal by 15 September 2023, 24:00 CEST.
