THESAURUS LINGUAE LATINAE: 2018 REPORT

Last month, the executive board of the Thesaurus Linguae Latinae (TLL) convened to discuss the latest developments concerning its project. We would like to take this chance to give you a brief report.

The board is pleased to note that the Society for Classical Studies has doubled its financial contribution to the work of the TLL to 2,000 USD. In this regard, it is even more delighted to point
out that the Italian Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei has raised its contribution from about 1,000 to 10,000 Euros per year.

Sadly, however, we also need to take account of the fact that the Czech Academy has decided to quit the TLL's Committee. It is still unclear whether a smaller Czech institution will take its place.

On another note, we may inform you that the TLL's summer school  has been a great success, with 17 participants from all over the world.

Lastly, we may add that the work on the TLL will complete its 125th year in 2019 and that its board, the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities, as well as the de Gruyter publishing group are currently discussing different ways to allow users Open Access to the TLL database. We will keep you posted as to the outcome of these talks.
