RESEARCH SCHOLARSHIPS AT THE HARDT FOUNDATION

Today we would like to inform you of the Call for Candidates for 2016 that has been published by the Hardt Foundation (Fondation Hardt), a highly esteemed research centre based in Vandoeuvres, Switzerland. The foundation offers Research Scholarships for young researchers covering stays of two to four weeks.

Note that candidates, i.e. PhD candidates (2nd year, at least) or post-doctoral researchers, are required to be 35 years of age or younger at the time of application.

The deadlines for applications are the 30th of November for stays requested between early February and the end of June, and the 30th of April for those between early September and early December.

WORLD PHILOSOPHY DAY – 19th NOVEMBER 2015


This week, we would like to announce to you two significant events in the field of philosophy, the first of which will take place in only a few days:

The World Philosophy Day 2015 will be held on the 19th of November 2015 in Paris, France. There is going to be a roundtable debate on the topic “plurality of languages and places of philosophy”, which will be broadcast live on the internet from 2:00pm to 5:00pm (local time).

WORLD CONGRESS OF PHILOSOPHY ON ARISTOTLE; ATHENS, JULY 2016


Secondly, we would like to let you know that the World Philosophy Congress on the Philosophy of Aristotle will be held in Athens, Greece, from the 10th to the 20th of July 2016. The event will be organized by the Association of Greek Philosophy, the Greek Philosophical Society, the Philosophical Society of Cyprus and other Societies, Associations and Educational Institutions, under the Auspices of the International Federation of Philosophical Societies (FISP). It is no coincidence that the Congress will be held exactly 2400 years after the birth of Aristotle and in the city where the philosopher spent most of his life.
